Elaf Taiba Hotel Madinah Review: The Renovated 3-Star Hotel Right in Front of the Prophet’s Mosque
If you are searching for an honest Elaf Taiba Hotel Madinah review, this is the complete picture before you book. Recently renovated and strategically located in the North Central area of Haram, just steps from the Prophet’s Mosque, this 3-star property with 237 rooms holds one of the most powerful testimonials in this review series — a guest who previously preferred the Sofitel and Hilton said that after staying here, Elaf Taiba became their first choice for Madinah. Here is why.
Location — As Close as It Gets at This Price
Elaf Taiba Hotel is right in front of the holy Prophet’s Mosque. The hotel sits within 1 minute’s walk of Gate 327, and is very close to the female section of Masjid Nabawi.
Close by are Bin Dawood supermarket, Saqifa Garden, and the Names of Allah and Muhammad Museum. Sultana Street with its shops and restaurants is accessible on foot. The airport is 15km away.
Couples rated the location 9.6 out of 10 — one of the highest location scores in this review series. The hotel also has more repeat guests than most other Madinah properties — pilgrims who came once and keep returning specifically because of where this hotel stands.
Important parking note: parking is available but at the Elaf Al Majeedi building a few hundred metres from the hotel. Guests arriving by vehicle should factor this in.

The Renovation
The hotel has recently been renovated and the results are impressive — rooms are spacious, bright, and very comfortable, a perfect place to relax after visiting the Haram. Spacious rooms and extensive breakfast options earn consistent high praise.

Rooms
Elaf Taiba Hotel has 237 rooms in total. All are air-conditioned with flat-screen satellite TV, private bathroom, free WiFi, carpeted floors, soundproof walls, safety deposit box, work desk, iron and ironing board. Room types include standard doubles, spacious triple rooms, quad rooms, Al Raihan Suites, and Superior Suites with Haram view.
A significant portion of rooms are designed for quad occupancy, making Elaf Taiba an excellent choice for families and groups. Haram view rooms are available and have been upgraded free of charge on request in multiple guest accounts.
Honest notes: some room types lack in-room tea/coffee — confirm at check-in. WiFi is weak in some rooms. Some furniture remains dated in certain categories. Cleanliness is generally praised but inconsistency in specific rooms has been reported.

Three Dining Outlets
Al Saqifa Restaurant serves international meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Al Asateen Café offers French pastries, light snacks, and beverages in a cosy setting — a genuinely distinctive offering steps from the Haram. Al Rukun Coffee Shop on the ground floor serves hot and cold drinks and snacks throughout the day.
During Ramadan, Sahoor is automatically included in breakfast packages. Iftaar can be added at SAR 25 extra per person. Note: breakfast is not always served as a buffet — set menu is used at certain occupancy levels.
Executive Floor guests receive Full Board including breakfast, lunch, and Happy Hours — light evening meals and snacks daily.

Staff
Bulbul from housekeeping went out of his way to ensure guest comfort with exceptional attention to detail. Aminul Islam maintained rooms immaculately throughout stays. Porters ran to carry bags. Kitchen staff served with a smile. Zafran and Sahil from the concierge team went out of their way to assist guests — their kindness and professionalism truly made a difference.

Honest Pros and Cons
Pros: Right in front of Prophet’s Mosque — Gate 327 in 1 minute, recently renovated rooms, strong quad capacity for families, location 9.6/10 for couples, more repeat guests than most Madinah properties, three dining outlets including French pastry café, Haram view suites, Executive Floor Full Board, Sahoor during Ramadan, exceptional staff culture.
Cons: 3-star classification — manage expectations, parking at separate building, some rooms lack tea/coffee, WiFi weak in places, breakfast sometimes set menu, some furniture still dated.

Verdict
Elaf Taiba Hotel delivers the most coveted thing in Madinah hotel bookings — being right in front of the Prophet’s Mosque at 3-star pricing, with a recently renovated interior, three dining outlets, and staff who turn first-time guests into permanent loyalists. This is one of the strongest location-value propositions in this review series.
